Petruchia

Ella Frances Vatvani is a Gibraltarian actor trained in London at Rose Bruford, Guildhall and ArtsEd, and at RESAD in Madrid. She began her professional career on the London stage before making her US stage debut as Daphne in Noël Coward’s Present Laughter. She is thrilled to take on Petruchia.

Gremia

Yelena Rogers has appeared in over 60 theatrical and film productions. She also holds a B.A. in Drama from SFSU and teaches drama at local schools. Some of her favorite roles have been Charlotte in Moon Over Buffalo, the title role in Medea, Emilia in Othello, Olivia in Twelfth Night, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, and Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest.

Hortensia/Merchant

Jo has been a member of the Masquers for simply ages. She finally retired from 30+ years as the Masquers’ costume room manager and from costuming after dressing 40-some shows. She’s very pleased to be back on stage. Favorite roles from her checkered past include Romaine Heilger in Witness for the Prosecution, Gertie in Fuddy Meers, Mrs. Peachum in Threepenny Opera and Mrs. Reece in two Farndale romps.

Grumia/Vincentia

Martie is delighted to make her Masquers debut! She is an actor, director, and all-around theater enthusiast throughout the East Bay. Recent roles include Prospero in ‘The Tempest’, Felicity in ‘The Shadowbox’, and Schneider in ‘Cabaret’. But her favorite role is ‘Oma’ to her three grandchildren. Enjoy the show!

Bianco/Servant

Passionate actor and storyteller with experience in film and theatre. An artistic director for Building Kidz. An academic with a BA and MA degrees in the Humanities with a focus on studying the philosophy of performative traditions. Kevin would like to thank his wonderful family and friends for their love and support.

Christopher

Euan is a San Francisco based actor, educator, and clown. He was worked with Berkeley Rep, Marin Theatre Company, Curtain Theatre, Tigerbear, Children's Fairyland. Shout out my wife.

I am excited to be in this reading of Taming of the Shrew. Staged readings are a great way to experience and learn Shakespeare. Lots of love to my most definitely not shrewish wife and puppy, my precious P's: Petunia and Pepper!

Lucentia

A longtime Masquer and the chairwoman of the Envision committee, Laura is excited to join this co-production and try her hand at Shakespeare. She is no stranger to more recent British comedy, having played various roles in Blithe Spirit, Private Lives, Noises Off, Lady Windermere’s Fan, and An Ideal Husband.

Thrilled to be working on this incredible and overdue interpretation with a talented cast. Recently played Costard in Love's Labour's Lost (Curtain) and Harry Bright in Mamma Mia (NTC). Love always to Amy, Veronica, Violet for their enduring support.

Curtis/Servant/Haberdasher

Paul's Masquers debut was in She Stoops To Conquer when he was 13. Recently he was in Gods Of Comedy as Ares. He can be seen at WWZ wrestling as Eddie Corvin, manager of the villainous faction, The Treachery. His favorite role is Dad to Marcus, Wyatt, and Connor.

Baptista Minola

Cynthia Lagodzinski (Baptista) works as an actor, director, designer, and professor. She has performed at several Bay Area theatres, including Livermore Shakespeare (SPARC), Hillbarn, Douglas Morrisson, Eugene O'Neill Festival, and Silicon Valley Shakespeare. Internationally, she has performed with the Prague Shakespeare Company and at Ireland's International Eugene O'Neill Festival.

Trania

Sydnie is excited to be back working with the curtain theatre. She has performed in roles such as Amien in As You Like It, Boyet in Loves Labors Lost, and Titania in a Midsummer Nights Dream. She is happy to be jumping back into Shakespeare!
